Panels 1-2: As
with the previous Rorschach blot, this latest one that Dr. Long has provided
Kovacs morphs directly into an image from Kovacs’s past. In this instance, the blot becomes the shadow
of his mother and one of her “johns” shot against a yellow wall, mirroring the
yellow background of the Rorschach blot card.
Panel 3: Interestingly, this silhouette, seen more
clearly in this panel, mirrors the imagery of the Hiroshima lovers’ graffiti
that we have seen in the streets of this New York City.
